American High School Theatre Festival
Edinburgh Festival Fringe
July 26 - August 8, 2025
Lincoln Theatre has been selected to perform at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the American High School Theatre Festival in their 30th Anniversary year.. This event is a once in a lifetime learning experience for Lincoln theatre students. Lincoln is an Alumni of the Fringe having attended in 1999, 2002 & 2005. Currently we are looking to send at least 35 students to the Fringe that will include the cast, crew and musicians for the production we're taking.
The cost per student is about $7000 for the two week adventure. Everything but souvenirs is included. Not bad for a lengthy trip that's all inclusive.
The program includes: • Administrative and technical staff support throughout the planning year and an on-site office staffed 12+ hours a day • Embedded insurance • College credit options post-tour through George Mason University • Round trip airfare • One meal per day in London and two meals per day in Edinburgh • 2 nights in London, 10 nights in Edinburgh. • All accommodations (typically dorm accommodations), plus nighttime security at the accommodation • Motor coach transportation in the UK to and from airports, as well as to performances, assigned audiences, and full-day sightseeing • Edinburgh bus pass and London tube pass • Performance venue outfitted with basic lights and sound, audience seating, and front-of-house staff • A listing in the Fringe programme (both online and print), and select additional marketing • Fringe registration fees • One technical rehearsal and four performance opportunities at an official AHSTF venue • Access to rehearsal rooms • Free stand-by tickets to AHSTF and ICTF student productions • Panoramic tour of London and walking tour of Edinburgh • Sightseeing excursions outside of Edinburgh with a licensed Blue Badge Guide • Admission to historic sights and cultural experiences (Stirling Castle or Falkland Palace and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo) • Ticket to a West End production • AHSTF events including a scavenger hunt, Passport to Success college fair, traditional Scottish dance party and closing ceremonies • Free time to explore Edinburgh and the Festival Fringe! |
About the Travel & WorldStrides
How will my group’s travel plans be coordinated? AHSTF maintains a full-time staff that coordinates all aspects of the program. All travel, touring, and performance arrangements are coordinated through our association with WorldStrides. Being a member of the WorldStrides family allows AHSTF to combine theatre education with the industry's best insurance protection policy to provide the highest quality, theatre festival, experience. WorldStrides’ team-based support is evident from the personal account management we provide for each group, to the staffin London and Edinburgh in the form of guides, bus drivers, tech team crew, and on-site logistical support. Who travels with each group? A group usually consists of students (performers, backstage and technical crew), the theatre director, and both teacher and parent chaperones. The participating students will be the freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors during the year your group performs at AHSTF. Rising 9th graders and recently graduated seniors are welcome to attend. The average size for an AHSTF group is 17-22, however, we have had groups as large as 100 and as small as 3. How does AHSTF address each group’s safety? AHSTF provides nighttime security at the group’s residences, 24-hour stateside emergency support, and an on-site office in Edinburgh. Your group’s safety is our primary concern, offering you peace of mind. The combined experience of AHSTF and WorldStrides in safely moving large numbers of students across the globe is second to none! What’s the “educational” value of this program? The WorldStrides mission of enriching students’ lives through experiential travel is fully realized with AHSTF. From basic inclusions to second-to-none performance opportunities, our program can be curated to meet your specific troupe’s needs. We have partnerships with leading theatre companies and institutions around the world: Shakespeare’s Globe, The National Theatre, The Royal Lyceum, Baby Wants Candy. This year, we were excited to welcome Barbara McAdams of the Tectonic Theatre Project to AHSTF as a workshop facilitator. In addition to workshops we also offer a Passport to Success College Fair and every student is eligible to receive college credit. |
FUN-Raising
There is of course a need to fund raise for this endeavor. With a project of this magnitude, we can't sell candy. We are looking for BIG ideas and even sponsors in kind to make this trip easier to afford for these kids. Have an idea, want to sponsor us, let's talk! Email Mr. Manthe and let's do this!
